Once again, huge thanks to Rachel for having me here at Bitten By Books. I’m so excited because today not only marks the release of Shifter’s Claim , Book#4 in the Shadow Shifters series, but the culmination in this year’s Season of Shifter book releases!
When I began writing the Shadow Shifter series I envisioned a few dark paranormal stories reminiscent of Angel and Supernatural. I imagined these shifters walking the streets right beside every day humans as if there was absolutely nothing different about them.
I called books 1-3 The Awakening because this species was just coming into its own in the human world. They were figuring out how to establish their own laws to deal with the rogues of their kind and to protect the humans. Roman, Nick and X did a fantastic job introducing the Shadow Shifters but after X’s story, I felt like there was still so much more of their story to be told.
The Shadow Shifters: Damaged Hearts Trilogy, took us back in time for the shifters, introducing the Sanchez Brothers in the early stages of their shifter lives. The brothers are young and still a bit naïve to what is going on around them in the human world and how big their role in the Stateside Shifter Assembly will one day become.
Books 4-6 will mark The Unveiling for the shifters because the secret they have tried so hard to protect will become known. This knowledge will undoubtedly change the world of the shifters and the humans and might possibly spark more suspense and intrigue in the future.
I thought by this time in the series I’d be ready to call it quits, to put these species on the shelf and say they lived a good life. However, I still have storylines in my mind. So many possibilities exist for the Shadows and the humans and the mixture of the two. I would say I’m still heavily invested in the world of shifters and cannot wait to see what I can come up with next.
