I’m very pleased to be here on Bitten By Books to celebrate the release of Unforgiven, book 2 in my Forbidden Bond Series! I had no idea when I started writing four years ago that I might actually have something worth reading. Let me tell you how I got started down the road that led me to release day. It was my daughter’s 17th birthday and I was giving her a lecture on life. I told her she could do anything she wanted to do and be anyone she wanted to be, if only she was willing to work for it. Up to this point in my life I was an avid reader, not a writer. Author were and still are my rock stars. I would jokingly tell my family that one day I was going to be a rock star too! I would write a novel, as soon as I found the time, of course. So, on this fateful day when I challenged my daughter to “be all she could be”, she challenged me. She said, “Mom, if you can be and do anything you want in life, why haven’t you written that novel you want to write yet?”
Well, crap! What was I supposed to say to that? It was put up or shut up time in my house and I had a point to prove! I started writing the next day. With the support of my friends and family, and a lot of bumps in the road along the way, I have two full length novels and one novella published to date. I’m so grateful that my daughter pushed me to live up to the expectation I had of her. I’ll never regret taking her up on what was basically a dare. To all of you aspiring writers out there, if I can do it, so can you! Okay, that’s enough mushy stuff! Back to the book!
I welcome you all to the Vampire Nation! I was asked recently what made my books different from other vampire books. There are a few things actually, first my vampires have a different origin from any I’ve ever read. You’ll have to read to learn more about the birth of the Vampire Nation. Second, my books are bit out of the ordinary, I think, because tried hard to create a world full of real people who don’t have all of the answers. The characters don’t always do the right the thing. They make mistakes and learn along the way. So, I suppose my vampires are very human in that way. The series deals with issues like prejudice, hierarchies, and trying to fit in when don’t belong. Again, these are very human concepts. I hope you enjoy reading the series as much as I enjoyed writing it.
