by G.K. DeRosa Fulfilling her destiny and becoming the Guardian has meant a world of sacrifices for Celeste Wilder, but her most difficult challenge is yet to come. The supernatural forces at play are far more powerful than she ever expected, and she will have to trust her instincts if she hopes to survive. Lilliana Constantin is back from the dead. Alek is free and somehow stronger than ever. A pack of rogue werewolves are wreaking havoc in her small town. And on top of all of this, Celeste faces what is at best an uncertain future with the love of her life.
While battling the forces of evil and saving the human world alongside Stellan and the handsome Constantin brothers has become second nature, Celeste had no idea what accepting her duty as the Guardian would actually cost her. When she faces an unspeakable tragedy, she is pushed to her breaking point. After fighting her most formidable enemies, Celeste is about to discover that sometimes the greatest evil is the one that comes from within.

Excerpts

1. Celeste’s eyes widened and her breath hitched as she stopped dead in her tracks to take in the nightmarish scene before her. Dani took advantage of Celeste’s momentary distraction to quickly squirm away as everyone’s attention was diverted to the scene at the altar. After all the commotion of the past half hour, the room had suddenly become eerily silent and no one dared to even breathe. Celeste could only see the back of Roman’s head as he, Nico and Alek encircled the white marble altar. Lilliana Constantin sat straight up, partially covered by a linen sheet and taking shallow breaths, her bright blue eyes frantically examining her unexpected surroundings. As she scanned the room, her gaze fell upon Celeste for a brief moment and Celeste couldn’t help but turn away, unnerved by those penetrating yet oddly familiar clear blue eyes. She noticed that Stellan and Dalla, too, refused to meet her gaze, as if that one act would make this surreal scene irrefutably real.

2. Celeste scrubbed feverishly at her blood-stained hands in the once pristine bathroom sink. Why won’t it come off? She scrubbed harder and harder until her fingers were nearly raw. Then she stared entranced as the crimson-hued water circled the drain and finally disappeared, leaving only small pinkish droplets around the rim as the only remnant of what was once her schoolmate, her friend, someone’s daughter and sister.

3. Immediately after Celeste’s departure, Roman headed out the back door and into the cool wintry air. He often found solace in the quiet of the forest, and there was never a time he needed it more. The sound of his footsteps crunching through the dead leaves and the occasional squirrel scurrying underfoot was all that could be heard for miles around. He took a deep breath and to his relief found that the fury burning inside of him was beginning to dissipate.

“Are you going to follow me all day, little brother?” asked Roman as he spun around to face his unwelcome shadow.

Nico stepped out from behind a leafless tree, looking abashed. “I wanted to make sure you were all right.”

“You thought perhaps I would storm off in a rage and ravage an entire small town?” he teased, shoving his hands into his pockets.

Nico gave him a wry grin. “You have done worse…”

“Please, don’t remind me.”

4. Celeste trudged up the pathway to Roman’s apartment, her heart as heavy as her steps were slow. She paused at the door hoping for a sign or something - anything that would tell her what she should do. Nothing.

“Are you going to come inside or just stand out there all day?” said Roman as he swung the door open, startling her.

“Yah, sorry. I was just trying to – ”

“Remember how to use the doorbell?” finished Roman with a grin.

Celeste knew Roman well enough to know that he was trying to make light of the situation. She could read his face like her own, and he knew something bad was coming. She hated to see him hurt like that, especially when she wasn’t even entirely sure what she was going to do yet.

About The Author
G.K. De Rosa has been an avid reader from a very young age. In fact, before she could even read, she tried fooling everyone into thinking that she could. At the precocious age of two, while living in Italy, she had memorized an entire children’s book in Italian and expertly turned the pages at the exact right moments of the story. As she grew up, she always enjoyed literature, no doubt having been instilled with a love of story telling from her early years in Catholic school where she was greatly influenced by exemplary teachers who taught her the value of English and Literature. Though she did not pursue writing in college and instead went for the more traditional route of International Business inspired by her love for travel and all things foreign, after a move to New York City, she found her creative writing side calling once again. She began writing a restaurant review blog, City Lights and Tasty Bites, detailing her other passion – food! The hectic hustle and bustle of the city, combined with long commuting times gave her the opportunity to spend more time reading and rekindled a lost love. After reading countless books in many diverse genres over the two years in New York City, and returning to her home state of Florida, she felt compelled to write something for herself. She had always felt particularly drawn to Young Adult novels and having been an eternal romantic at heart, a fantasy romance was a natural choice. She currently lives in South Florida with her real life Prince Charming and their fur baby, Nico the German Shepherd.
Interview
The best book/s you ever read?
I am a huge fan of The Hunger Games, I’ve probably read the entire series 3 or 4 times. I also love Vampire Academy and Outlander.
How did you get into writing?
I don’t think I ever realized how much I loved writing until I started doing it one day. I’ve always been a fan of fantasy/paranormal TV shows. Some of my favorites growing up were Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Angel, etc. then as I got older I started watching True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and many more. I’ve always had a vivid imagination, I just hadn’t used it proactively. I had been doing a ton of reading and just decided to start writing one day. I didn’t have a plan or an outline or anything. I just started typing away and within a few days I was addicted!
Who inspires you?
A lot of authors inspired me to start writing. I had binge read The Vampire Diaries series and the Sookie Stackhouse series prior to when I started. Honestly, after reading them I remembered thinking, I could totally do this! While the Vampire Diaries book series was not my favorite, I did get totally sucked into the TV series. I watched like 5 seasons over a few weeks and absolutely fell in love with the characters of Damon and Elena. They were really what inspired me to write Wilder, but I wanted my heroine to be a kick-butt demon hunter too.
Did you do any kind of research to determine the details of your characters lives / lifestyles?
I didn’t do much research to be honest. That’s the great thing about writing urban fantasy, you can just make it all up as you go along. I grew up watching a lot of supernatural TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, and Angel so I had a pretty good background to start with.
Did you always plan for more than one book? What can we expect from the sequel?
Yes, I knew I definitely wanted to do a series. All of my favorite books are series. I think that one book just isn’t enough to fully develop a character’s arc. Wilder Revelation is the third book in The Guardian Series and it has a much darker feel. The first book, Wilder, is more light hearted as Celeste learns about her supernatural destiny. After dealing with it now over the course of two books, it’s starting to get tougher for her. She’s getting stronger but also a bit more jaded which I think is a natural progression. And of course there’s always her love life which is torn in a few directions as she grows and changes.
Did any real-life political incidents or maneuvering make it into the book?
No, I try to stay away from real life and fully delve into the fantasy. The only parts that I do take from my own personal experience are the locations Celeste travels to in the second and third books. She gets to go to Warsaw, Poland where I am now living and in Wilder Revelation she makes a quick stop in Rome which is one of my favorite cities in the world.
Do you have strange writing habits? If you could eliminate one thing from your daily schedule, what would it be and why?
I think my writing habits are pretty normal! I try to write daily and a minimum of 5 pages in Word. I’m currently writing full time now so I feel like that’s the least I should do. It’s hard to eliminate distractions. There’s always something pulling me away from the writing, but once I sit down and get going, I absolutely love getting lost in it.
How did you come up with the title? Names?
Most of the names I picked were names that I’ve always liked or been drawn to. I tried to pick more interesting names for the supernatural characters and went with more “normal” names for the humans. I actually did some research into the last name Wilder which means “hunter” in German. Then I really liked it and decided to use it as the title. Then from there, I just added an ending to Wilder which described the theme of the sequels.
What gender you prefer for your main character will be? why?
This is my first series so I’ve only written a female main character, but as a female I think it’s easier to relate. I did write a novella in first person in the voice of Nico Constantin one of the other characters and it was more fun than I expected. A few of my readers commented that I had done a good job of capturing another voice, but then again most of my readers are female so I’m not sure what a guy would say lol.
What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
I definitely rely on looks first as terrible as that sounds. Of course personality is a huge factor but if you’re not attracted to the person at first, then it probably wouldn’t go anywhere for me. I like the typical tall, dark and handsome lol.
What sacrifices have you had to make to be a writer?
Luckily not too many! When I first started writing, I was working full time so it was mostly just juggling time. Now that I’m writing full time, it’s been pretty awesome!
Do you think that the cover plays an important part in the buying process?
Absolutely! Just like with the opposite sex, there has to be something to attract you at first. Especially in the competitive market that we authors are in, there are hundreds of new books being published daily. You have to get someone to click on that thumbnail when they come across it on Amazon or Goodreads. For me, creating the cover is one of the hardest parts!
What do you think of “trailers” for books?
I think a well-done trailer could be quite useful, unfortunately there are so many poorly done ones that I haven’t given it a try myself. I’ve considered doing one, but if I did I would want it to be very professional looking and I don’t know that I want to spend the money on that just yet lol.
Name one thing that drives you crazy in the publishing industry
Amazon drives me nuts sometimes! I decided to go exclusive with them as an indie author and it’s a decision that I battle with daily. I like having control of my books which is why I didn’t go the normal publishing route, but I feel like Amazon has so much control over everything!
What’s the best thing that anyone said to you when you were in a writing low spot?
“Just keep writing!” And it’s the truth. There’s no better way to improve your writing skills or increase your revenue than by writing more.
How do you celebrate when you finish a novel?
By taking a break for a day lol. I’ve been writing a lot lately, I plan to have 4 books out in one year which is pretty demanding. I love sharing the news on my social media when I finish, it’s such a great sense of accomplishment.
Where did you grow up? tell us a little about yourself
I grew up in Palm Beach, Florida and it is the best! It’s a small town on the beach with beautiful palm trees and great weather. I went to Catholic school just like Celeste all the way from pre-school through 12th grade. Then I went to the University of Florida – go Gators! I really had awesome but tough English teachers growing up and they made us read a ton! At the time, I didn’t find as much value in it, but now as an adult I really appreciate it. They were the ones that instilled in me my love for reading and writing. I still stay in touch with a few of them today and some even came to my first book signing! I am living in Poland right now because my husband is from here and his family lives here. It’s been quite an adventure and has left me with a lot of time for writing.
What do you consider your best accomplishment?
Writing my first book, Wilder, was a huge accomplishment. I had no idea that it would turn into a career. I never knew that I could make money from doing something that I love. After writing the first one, I was hooked and I knew that was what I wanted to do forever.
What is your favorite quote?
“Life is what happens while you’re making plans.”
I never thought in a million years that I would be living in a small town in Poland. But if I hadn’t come here, I wouldn’t have been able to write full time, and definitely wouldn’t have been able to write 4 books in a year. Now when we return to Florida at the end of the year, I should be able to continue my writing without having to get a full-time job. It’s amazing!
This is stolen directly from James Lipton, but what the heck. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
“Welcome!”
What’s the best joke (keep u clean) that you’ve ever heard?
I have the worst memory so I’m sure there are some way funnier ones that I’m forgetting, but I heard this one recently -
“My dog used to chase people on a bike a lot. It got so bad, I finally had to take his bike away.”
What’s the worst job you’ve had?
I think I’ve been pretty lucky in life because I’ve never really had a horrible job. I hate sales jobs and I worked in financial services on two occasions and really didn’t love those. But no horror stories to share!

BOOK TRAILER:

EXCERPT:

Her cell phone lit up on the seat beside her, and Brad’s name appeared across the screen. She reached for the phone and powered it off. The next time she communicated with him would be through an attorney.

Scottie contemplated her options for a place to spend the night. Already approaching the fifty-mile mark, she couldn’t drive much farther on her spare tire. Her best friend, Anna, had been avoiding her since Christmas, since Scottie had inadvertently placed Anna’s husband in danger of losing his medical license. The rest of her friends would undoubtedly be spending quiet weekends at home, nursing their babies and making love to their husbands. She could drive to Church Hill to her brother’s house, where she knew she’d find a sympathetic shoulder to cry on. But Will would want all the details, and she wasn’t ready to give voice to her drama. Tonight, she needed time alone to think. Tonight, she needed to drink tequila.

She took a right-hand turn onto the Boulevard, drove one block, and then turned left onto Franklin Street. She parked under the portico in front of the Jefferson Hotel, handed her key to the valet, and went inside to the front desk. After booking the cheapest room available, she wheeled her suitcase around the corner and rode the elevator to the third floor. The consolation prize to having the smallest room in the most luxurious hotel in the city was the stunning view overlooking downtown Richmond.

Author Bio:

Ashley Farley is a wife and mother of two college-aged children. She grew up in the salty marshes of South Carolina, but now lives in Richmond, Virginia, a city she loves for its history and traditions.
After her brother died in 1999 of an accidental overdose, she turned to writing as a way of releasing her pent-up emotions. She wrote SAVING BEN in honor of Neal, the boy she worshipped, the man she could not save. SAVING BEN is not a memoir, but a story about the special bond between siblings.
HER SISTER'S SHOES—June 2015—is a women's novel that proves the healing power of family.
Merry Mary—October 2015—a holiday novella, a young woman longing for a child stumbles upon a Christmas miracle.
BREAKING THE STORY is scheduled for release on March 17, 2016. A romantic political suspense. Passion. Peril. And a scandal that will rock American politics.
An Interview with Ashley Farley on her writing process.

Do you write or type?

I type! There are plenty of authors who still sit down and put pen to paper. But that is definitely not for me. Being able to move sentences and paragraphs around on the screen saves an enormous amount of time. I would be lost without spellcheck and my dictionary apps.

Do you begin planning your novel with a plot line or a character?

A character. I imagine my character, and once I blow life into her, she shows me the way.

Do your characters resemble people you know?

Not intentionally, but it’s innate. As I get inside my character’s heads, I can’t help but portray a little bit of myself in each of them. I’m always on the lookout for interesting characteristics in the people I encounter everyday.

Do you use your experiences in real life for your novels?

Not the big picture events, but I often use an anecdote from my real life to add humor or to make a situation feel more genuine, more legit.

What is your writing process? Are you a plotter or a panster?

For the most part I’d have to say I’m a panster, but there are definitely times when I need to use outlines to keep my facts straight and verify that my story flows. I’m fortunate to belong to a club that has an outdoor heated pool. I swim laps every day, all year long, even when it’s snowing. This peace and quite time allows me the opportunity to mentally plot what I’m going to write that day, to make up scenes and devise sentences. Then, when I sit down at my computer later in the morning, the words flow much quicker and easier. Free flow writing, on the other hand, helps when I’m suffering from writer’s block. Good material comes from these sessions, from just typing out whatever comes to mind.

What is your main objective in your writing?

I write the types of novels I like to read. Readers are attracted to my books because of the fast pace. My goal is to create interesting characters with the right amount of description and lots of action. If my readers keep turning the pages well into the night, then I have done my job.

How many hours do you spend writing a day?

Writing has become a full time job for me. Seven days a week, much to my husband’s chagrin. The process of writing takes an enormous amount of time. When I’m not writing, I’m marketing or working the social media networks. I love every minute of it.

What is your editing process?

Getting through the first draft is challenging. Starting with a blank page every day taxes the imagination. The process gets easier, and more exciting and fun, with each subsequent draft. The story takes on a life of its own and things begin to fall into place. My favorite draft is the last edit, the fine-tune edit, when I program my computer to read the manuscript back to me.

Do you always know how your story will end?

I never know how my story will end, oftentimes until I get to the last chapter in my first draft. I bring my characters to life, give them the big picture plot, and let them tell me the story.

Can you speak to the diversity in your books?

Saving Ben is a new adult book. Her Sister’s Shoes is women’s fiction. And Breaking the Story is romance. I didn’t set out to write novels that cross genres. It just happened that way. Again, I created the characters that spoke to me, and I let them do the rest.

BRYCE (SCANDALOUS BOYS #1) BY NATALIE DECKER

Bryce (Scandalous Boys #1)
by Natalie Decker
Publication Date:  February 22, 2016
Publisher:  Swoon Romance
Bryce Matthews doesn’t do the whole nice boyfriend thing. Chocolates and flowers—girls can forget all that. And he certainly doesn’t care about the gossip and rumors that follow him at school and around town. If anything, the talk amuses him. Bryce isn't lacking in confidence. He knows himself and he knows his limits. One of those hard limits is Madison Issac. Bryce can never have her, and he's perfectly fine with that. Sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality anyway.

Madison Issac thought she was a pretty good judge of character. But she's surprised at how gentle and comforting resident bad-boy and next-door neighbor Bryce Matthews is when we finds her crying in the park.

Maybe there's more to Bryce than people think? So Madison begins to wonder.

Can a guy like Bryce ever change his ways?

Can a girl like Madison really be into a guy like Bryce?

With hearts and reputations on the line, this kind of love can be scandalous.

Coffee Books & Art – Interview

1. The best book/s you ever read ?

I just finished up a slew of Hockey books. The Roommates, The Score, and Kissing in cars And I really enjoyed them. I will always love the Harry Potter Series, Dark Guardian Series, Vampire Academy Series, The Mortal Instruments series, Divergent series, Twilight series, Anna and the French Kiss, To All the boys I’ve ever Loved, and PS I still Love You.

2. How did you get into writing?

I think I’ve always been in it since Elementary school, writing poems here and there, then it morphed into books during college.

3. Who inspires you?

My kids and family. Honestly, anything I do is for them.

4. Did you do any kind of research to determine the details of your characters lives / lifestyles?

Yes. Google is the best thing EVER!

5. Did you always plan for more than one book? What can we expect from the sequel?

I usually always plan for more than one book. Next book in this series will be Graham’s story. Yay. That’ll be here in the fall of 2016.

6. Did any real-life political incidents or maneuvering make it into the book?

Nope.

7. Do you have strange writing habits? If you could eliminate one thing from your daily schedule, what would it be and why?

I outline but that’s not strange. I should really stop reading books all the way through one sitting. No matter how terrible or terrific. I do my reading at night right before I go to bed and sometimes wake up with a book-hangover.

8. How did you come up with the title? Names?

Names: Baby Name Book, and Last names would be the phone book. Title: My wonderful Publisher Georgia and I decided since we were going to name the series Scandalous Boys (Cause that’s just so fun to say) we’d name each title by the main boy’s name.

9. What gender you prefer for your main character will be? why?

Well, it depends on the story. In this one I have both Bryce and Madison as the main characters because it’s their story. In other book I’m working on let’s call it Side Project X because it’s not finished and I haven’t shown to anyone. Anyways, this one is turning out to be a girl POV all the way. Because I want this to be her story.

10. What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?

Eyes, then smile. Usually don’t care about hair unless it’s like five different shades and is all Wow WTF. But mostly it’s the eyes.

11. What sacrifices have you had to make to be a writer?

None. Look, I have a super supportive family. And I’m a time management type person. I always cook homemade meals. Last night was Ricotta Gnoochi’s. Thing is we can be writers and have it all. There are 24 hours in each and every day. Nothing changes. I wake up and get daughter and son ready for school. Then I write for an hour. I work from eight to three. Homework, Dinner, and then work a smidge more until seven. Then I write from eight to nine.

12. Do you think that the cover plays an important part in the buying process?

I think a good cover helps. It draws readers to the book. Then they flip it over to see what it’s about. Yes, I’m a judge of covers. Sorry world this is what draws me to all your pretties. To keep my attention if it has an interesting blurb then I buy it.

13. What do you think of “trailers” for books?

I love book trailers. I’m all for the interactive ones like Simone Elkeles Perfect Chemistry series. Those are fun.

14. Name one thing that drives you crazy in the publishing industry?

Just one? Kidding. I do have one. Stop this classifying of authors. No matter what route they took. If their book is available for you to purchase then guess what? They’re an author. (What? Shut the front door.) I know right? Mind blowing stuff there. Why does it matter if they went the traditional way or did it themselves? It doesn’t. Support every author, no matter how they came to be.

15. What’s the best thing that anyone said to you when you were in a writing low spot?'

Keep working and prove them wrong.

16. How do you celebrate when you finish a novel?

Drink. Kidding. I usually lounge around in my Pj’s for most of the day then go out for dinner at night. Not in my Pj’s. Although that would be quite funny if you ask me. ;)

17. Where did you grow up? tell us a little about yourself

I grew up in a small town called Toronto, Ohio. I played a lot of sports, was a super big Tomboy. Seriously I only had one girl as a friend. The rest were boys that my brother hung out with. I have two wonderful kids and a husband. My dog recently passed away and I miss her terribly. I hate clowns and snakes. Allergic to coconut. I know for shame. No movie popcorn for me. L I love heights and doing daring stuff. I parasailed when I was eighteen. If I see something funny, like a person getting frustrated buying condoms and they pick them up thinking no one is watching. I’m the person who will shout, “Yeah, Buddy you’re getting some tonight. Wooo hooo!” Yes, I’m so not a person to go shopping with. My brother found that out real quick when I did this in Walmart to a stranger. Those people aren’t going to see me again. I HATE SNOW. Seriously, if we could eliminate winter all together I’d be happy. (Sorry Jack Frost. You’re cute and all, but no.) I love to cook. Honestly it’s the thing I do when I’m stressed. It completely relaxes me. I think that’s about it.

18. What do you consider your best accomplishment?

My kids. Seriously I think they’re great. They’re funny witty and respectful. They’re also stubborn when it comes to something they firmly believe in. Like when it’s time for bed. But I love them. Just the way they are and even if I might want to smack their butts for being crazy, I wouldn’t change them for anything.

19. What is your favorite quote?

Your life is your own journey, so make it amazing!
20. What’s the worst job you’ve had?

Don’t hate me, but I’ve actually never had a bad job. Seriously, I loved all my jobs. I had a lot of them. But I loved them all.

Thank you Natalie

Book #7 of the Bestselling Collapse Series by Summer Lane

SNEAK PEEK:

The dark, dank smell of the cave seeps into my bones and chills my soul. Dim, flickering firelight crawls up the walls, throwing a shadow across my face. I hug my blanket tightly around my shoulders, shivering. It is painfully silent.
There are people everywhere—about thirty of us—but there is no talking. No whispering, no laughing. We are too tired to talk. Too cold. Small fires have been lit here in the cave, but it is hardly enough to remedy the cloying chill of the winter storm.
It is all sharp angles and rocky slopes in here. There is no soft surface, no privacy. Most people are asleep right now. It has become the only way to make the time pass quicker. Waiting, as we are, for the storms to end. For this harsh winter to be over.
But it is not getting better.
It is getting worse.
I cough and shudder. We have been trapped here for weeks. I feel as if the walls are falling down around me, devouring me. I close my eyes tightly, brushing my calloused fingers over the familiar, worn grip of my rifle.
Soon, this will all be over.
Soon, we will all be dead.

Excerpt Two:

“He looks at me differently now,” I whispered. “Ever since Sky City. He keeps watching me, like he’s afraid of me.”

“He is,” Uriah answered. “Everyone is.”

I frowned and looked back toward the skyline, quickly fading into shadow.

“Have I changed that much?” I asked.

“We’ve all changed. Hell, the world has.” Uriah raised his hand, his black fingerless gloves stained with soot. I stared at his hand as he moved closer, frozen. He touched my cheek with his finger. “I like the new you,” he said. “It’s different. But it’s real.”

I didn’t move, looking into his coal-colored eyes.

I saw something there. Something familiar.

A reflection of my own soul, perhaps?

“We should go inside,” I said, stepping away, frightened.

In the distance, thunder boomed. I paused, looking behind my shoulder. Uriah looked mildly disappointed, but beyond him, color flashed above the canopy of clouds. I looked to the sky. It was just a single sheet of white and yellow—like lightning flickering through a window. And then it was gone.

“What was that?” Uriah murmured.

I shook my head.

“I have no idea,” I said.

This new, dark world was beginning to frighten me.

Excerpt Three:

We move through the prison in a silent, determined parade. As we walk, we draw the attention of the soldiers staying in the cells. A few of them recognize Chris, but mostly I hear murmurs about me.

“…That’s Cassidy Hart…”

“…she’s a sniper in the militias…”

“…I heard she’s killed a thousand men…”

“…No, not a thousand. Maybe a hundred—”

“Who could miss her? Look at that red hair.”

They whisper. I hear snatches of their comments. Some of them call me Commander, some of them call me Senator, and some of them call me Shooter. It is strange. Everyone knows me. They know my name, they know what I’ve done, where I’ve fought, and what I’m good at.

I am known for killing.

Do I regret my reputation? I search my mind, and there is a twinge of guilt there…but it is gone in a flash.
No. I do not regret it. I regret nothing.
I am a fighter, and I will not apologize for defending what I love.

Interview with Summer Lane

Topic:
Where Collapse is Headed: And What Happens After!
This is your seventh installment in the Collapse Series! When is the series ending?
The Collapse Series will end at the tenth installment, but that does not mean that the characters are going away forever. The Collapse Series does exactly what it’s name suggests: it follows the collapse of society and civilization. After I’m done with that, I can move to what happens after.
When is Book 8 releasing?
Summer 2016. The next book will take Cassidy somewhere she has never been before – far away, to a place full of surprises. I can’t say too much, because I don’t want to spoil State of Destruction! Let’s just say it will be pretty cold where she’s going.
Any other books?
I announced that I’m working on releasing another series this year, The Bravo Saga. This series follows the adventures of the fierce and loyal Bravo, the German Shepherd companion of Elle Costas in the Zero Trilogy. He’s one of the most popular characters – if not THE most popular – that I have ever created for readers, so I’m excited to share his story next.
How do you write so many books a year?
Hmm. I’m not really sure. I’ve been so incredibly busy for three years – I haven’t stopped to think or breathe. It’s definitely a positive thing, but I will probably start to roll back to 2-3 book releases a year after the Collapse Series has finished. Just so I can have a little downtime between books. It’s important to rest your brain when you’ve been creating non-stop for such a long period of time.
Author Bio:
Summer Lane is the #1 Bestselling Author of The Collapse Series and the compelling tie-in novella books of The Zero Trilogy, as well as the upcoming Bravo Saga (releasing Spring 2016). She is also the author of Collapse: The Illustrated Guide, a #1 bestselling graphic companion to her phenomenal original series.
She is the owner of WB Publishing and Writing Belle, an online magazine. Summer is also an accomplished journalist and creative writing teacher.
Summer lives in the Central Valley of California, where she spends her days writing, teaching, and writing some more. When she is not writing, she enjoys leisurely visits with friends at coffee shops, movie dates, reading and spending the day at the beach or mountains.

Book Tour Launch for The Express Rider's Lady By Stacy Henrie

On Tour with Prism Book Tours.

Interview with the Author

1. What is your motivation behind The Express Rider’s Lady?

It was while driving across Wyoming on the way to South Dakota one summer that I thought up Delsie and Myles and their cross country journey. And their story turned out to be so much fun to write! Partly because of the adventure of racing against the clock to reach California, partly because it features the Pony Express, which is such an iconic part of the Old West, and partly because both characters end up growing so much from their experiences.

2. What do you hope readers take with them after they’ve read it?

I hope readers take away that we can each do hard things; that we don’t have to let others’ imposed stereotypes have sway in our lives or our hearts. Also, no matter where we are, the Lord is aware of us.

3. Do you have a favorite scene?

That’s always a tough question to answer! But I would say one of my favorites is the scene when the Indian tries to barter for Delsie’s hand in exchange for giving Myles a new horse. The situation is rather intense, and Myles knows that, even if Delsie doesn’t at first. But the way Myles handles it is really fun.

4. Share something about you that is unique?

In the third grade, I wrote a very, very short story about the Pony Express, complete with illustrated picture of a girl rider and her horse. So it’s super fun to now have a full-length novel about the Pony Express. I’d love to go back and tell that little girl self, “Just you wait. Someday you will be a writer and have enough story to fill a whole book.”

Westward Wedding Journey

Delsie Radford is going to make it to California, no matter the danger or difficulty. Her father may have kept her and her sister apart, but Delsie refuses to miss her sister's wedding—even with only eighteen days to get there. And she's found the perfect escort in Pony Express rider Myles Patton.

Myles can't believe it when a pretty socialite hires him to take her cross-country through rough terrain and dangerous territory. Surely she'll quit before they reach their destination—he's known girls like her before. But the longer they ride together, the more Myles notices Delsie's toughness and kindness beneath her polished exterior. And though they may be worlds apart…they might just be perfect for each other.
