Would you rather always take a cold shower or sleep an hour less than you need to be fully rested?
Take a cold shower! Don’t mess with my sleep! Honestly, this is why I shower at night, so that I know I have plenty of time to sleep and plenty of hot water. Besides, we can all use a cold shower every now and again.
Maybe I’m biased. In college I lived on the 10th floor in my dorm building and the hot water heaters were down in the basement. I used to turn on the water an hour before I actually wanted to take a shower, and even then it was only luke-warm by the time it got to me.
Would you rather always get first dibs or the last laugh?
I don’t think I’ve ever been first in my entire life, so I don’t get the appeal. I have had plenty of last laughs… and will have plenty more.
Would you rather always have to say everything on your mind or never speak again?
Can I write it still? Hmmm…
I think I say everything on my mind. It could be fun to always be straight forward and honest. Kind of like that Liar, Liar movie. I’d bet my life would be filmed and I’d be famous. Fame would make books sell. So I’d rather always have to say everything on my mind. These questions rock… that’s what I was just thinking… for real.
Would you rather always lose or never play?
I think losing would get old pretty fast—and eventually, if I never won, I’d quit playing anyway. So if I know I’m going to lose, I’ll just not play. The only reason TO play is to get the experience behind you to eventually win. I think life is a lot like that… you just get harder and harder games to play. Getting stuck isn’t an option… but then again, I’m not sure never playing is either ;)
Would you rather be able to hear any conversation or take back anything you say?
This totally depends on question 3 :). If I have to say everything on my mind, it would be extremely advantageous to then be able to take back anything I say, ha.
Otherwise, I’d prefer to be able to hear any conversation. Normally I’m pretty good at thinking before I speak.
Would you rather be able to read everyone’s mind all the time or always know their future?
Always know their future. This, I think, would be a harder gift, but also less selfish. Being able to read someone’s mind all the time really would have no benefit to anyone but me, and as much fun as it would be to hold all of that over people’s heads (can you imagine if I had to say everything on my mind with THIS gift?), I think I’d rather have the power to help people. But I’m one of those that believes the future is always changeable.
Would you rather be able to stop time or fly?
Can you believe that I really have no desire to fly, at all? I’m not afraid of heights or anything like that, I just don’t really think it would be all that amazing. I’ve never even flown in a dream… yeah, you read that right. Not ever.
When I was growing up my favorite show on TV was a show called Out Of This World. It was about a girl who could stop time. I’ve ALWAYS wanted that power. So… no contest. I’m a time stopper (how do you think I ended up being 392 years old? You did read my bio, right?).
Would you rather be forgotten or hatefully remembered?
Hatefully remembered! As it turns out, Death of the Body has caused some controversy over its religious subjects, which I find rather odd, but it’s something of which I am also rather proud.
I’ve made people uncomfortable all my life. I enjoy making people question the status quo.
Would you rather be hairy all over or completely bald?
Completely bald. I hate hair. It’s sort of a phobia of mine.
Would you rather be happy for 8hrs/day and poor or sad for 8hr/day and rich?
I’m a little bit conniving, so sad for 8 hours a day and rich… cause those are the 8 hours I’d sleep. Per question 1, I might have to take a cold shower, but at least I’d be rich for 16 hours a day (and happy… the cold shower can be part of the sad time).
Yeah, I totally plotted that out.
Would you rather be invisible or be able to read minds?
Going back to the “I want to be hatefully remembered,” I’m going to go with being able to read minds. Being invisible doesn’t sound much fun (easier to be forgotten), and what would you do with that power anyway, besides spy on people. I can do that by reading their mind, upsetting the status quo by what I learn, AND being hatefully remembered. Sounds lovely.
Would you rather be rich and ugly, or poor and good looking?
Do any of these questions get a pass? Cause I’m totally going to ungracefully duck out of this question by answering, it wouldn’t matter. I would make the best of both situations. If I were ugly, I’d buy a rich partner from one of those “mail-order” services. If I were poor and good looking, I’d probably end up sleeping in some rich person’s bed anyway (*wink wink*).
Would you rather be stranded on an island alone or with someone you hate?
Depends: do I get to torture that person during my 16 hours of happy and rich time?
Honestly though, I’d rather be alone. I do well by myself.
Would you rather be the most popular or the smartest person you know?
I honestly do believe that certain intelligent people are socially awkward, but I’d still choose to be smart. The dumb and popular cliché wouldn’t look good on me, and even socially awkward smart people have equally socially awkward and smart friends.
Would you rather live without music or live without T.V.?
Without live TV! Who would be able to survive without music?
I think TV steals creativity, while music inspires it.
