Because of Luke (Lewiston Blues #1)~Author: F.X. Scully~Release Date: February 28th, 2014~Length: 425~Genres: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Music, love and sibling rivalry…all Because of Luke.
Three years ago, Shannon was a wild child. Parties, boys. You name it, she did it. But she's changed and the only way to truly turn things around is to finish college and hop on a plane to…anywhere else. Until an unexpected encounter throws her off track.
Sheila’s been covering for her big sister for as long as she can remember. Now it’s her turn. But her rebellious plans don’t include small-town fun. She’s got her eye on something better—a group of budding rock stars and a summer-long tour.
In the middle of the sisters lands Luke, a determined college student who’s pretty sure he just met his soulmate. But loyalty to his big brother means leaving her behind to go on a three-month tour with his band. Desperate to get over the girl, he soon becomes entranced with the groupie who’s come along for the ride only to find he’ll have to make a tough choice—and not without breaking some hearts along the way.
Because of Luke is a bittersweet New Adult romance that begins in the Summer of 1991.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~~ About the Author ~F.X. Scully loves romance, but she doesn't write your typical Happily Ever After. Because let's face it, in the real world, it can sometimes take a lot of angst and pain before you get there. And some of us never do. But since most of us pick up books to escape the real world, her stories don't lack hot boyfriends and sexy encounters. Neither will she leave you completely heart broken, sobbing into a tub of ice cream. Rest assured you'll be on a roller coaster, but you'll be glad you went along for the ride.F.X. is the author of Two Thousand 3 (November 2013) and Because of Luke (February 2014).~ Connect with F.X. Tell us about your family.- Luke: My brother is my family. At least the only family that matters. We’re pretty damn close. Ross has always been there for me and as tough as it is sometimes to give up the things I care about, I’ll do it if it makes him happy. You can ask for better family than that guy. Just be sure to ask me about him on a good day.- Shannon: I love my parents. I really do. But they drive me crazy. They’re super religious, which basically means growing up I wasn’t allowed to do or see anything that wasn’t approved bythem. I found my way around those rules, but it wasn’t always easy. Now my little sister’s following in my footsteps. I can’t say I’m proud of myself for that. I just hope she gets it all out of her system sooner than later.- Sheila: My family’s insane. It’s not that I don’t love them, but I really wish they’d just relax a little bit. Especially my parents. My older sister’s pretty cool, but lately she’s been kind of a party pooper, for lack of a better term. She’s always trying to talk me out of having fun, even though she spent her entire teenage existence doing a hell of a lot worse. I understand where she’s coming from, but it’s still annoying. I swear she picked the worst time to be come a good girl. I’m not going to let it stop me from having my fun though. After all, I’m entitled. What’s your favorite group or artist?- Luke: Nirvana. I’m into Queen and Johnny Cash too.- Shannon: I adore Celine Dion. I’m a big Mariah Carey fan too. I also like Billy Ray Cyrus, Brooks & Dunn, P.M. Dawn. and TLC.- Sheila: Um, Roscoe Gold. You really have to ask?In the morning are you perky or a terror?- Luke: Neither. My mornings are pretty predictable, so I’ve kind of just learned to roll with them. You’ll find me getting on with my day just like a normally do. It starts with rolling a random chick, who’s not even mine, out of my bed and ends with me holing up in my room and shutting out the noise from one of my brother’s parties.- Shannon: For the most part, I love mornings. I get up before everyone else and get started with my day. Usually I put in a few hours of reading, make myself breakfast then get on the road and off to school before all the crazy traffic hits. But there are mornings when things don’t go as planned. Like when my sister stays out later than usual and I have to help sneak her in the house. Not my favorite way to start the day, but it’s not like she hasn’t done me the same favor a time or two.- Sheila: I hate mornings. Unless it’s Saturday and I can sleep in. You know, now that you bring it up, I have this feeling I’m never going to sleep in again. Not on a tour bus with four guys. Damn it. What was I thinking? What one word best describes you?- Luke: Hermit- Shannon: Driven- Sheila: DreamerAre an introvert or an extravert?- Luke: I haven’t talked to most of my friends since high school. When I was younger, I guess you could say I was an extrovert. I mean, I had fun. But after that whole mess with my parents, I kind of stayed away from parties and, well, people in general. I still had my boys, but things were different. We did our own thing and left the rest of the world alone. Since I started college, I’ve mostly been an introvert, but I guess now that I’m headed out on tour I’ll have no choice but to start interacting with the masses. Plus, being on a bus for three-months straight with four other people, including a hot chick who’s determined to get my attention, isn’t much of a place to continue my stint as the shy guy.- Shannon: Definitely an extrovert. Just not lately. I’m so determined to finish school and get on with my life, I’ve kind of let the whole friend thing slide. I don’t talk to anyone from high school. My mom used to tell me that would happen and I never believed her. Talk about eating your words. Yep, I pretty much keep to myself these days.- Sheila: I love people. The more the better. I can get along with just about anyone as long as they’ve got half a brain. If you ask me, the world is better with more people in it.What is something people would be surprised to know about you?- Luke: I want a quiet life. I play in a band and those guys can get pretty rowdy, but I’m the complete opposite. My dream isn’t the record deal and night after night of partying. It’s a boring job, living in the suburbs and being half-normal.- Shannon: I think my friends from high school would be surprised to know I’m not so wild anymore. I can’t remember thelast party I went to and I spend most of my time studying and trying to keep my sister out of trouble. Anyone who knew me at sixteen would be seriously shocked to see what I’ve turned into.- Sheila: That I’m a virgin. I know I don’t come off as one. But I am. I like boys. A lot. But I’m really just looking for the right one.
