Excerpt - Chapter Ten - Falling into YouI moved at vampire speed so that, in a blurry movement, I'd flipped him onto his back and was astride him.
It was my turn for power. I needed to take some control back.
I took his thick manhood into my hands, squeezing it gently. I noticed his Adam's apple twitch in his ripe throat. Just like Marc, it was the only thing that showed his nerves.
I lifted my butt up and hovered over the tip, smiling and licking my lips. He'd just had a hell of a time with me. Now it was my turn to be where I wanted to be. I was in complete control and driving him crazy.
I lowered down slightly so the tip was just inside me, alerting him to the fact of how wet he'd made me.
"Oh, god, Teagan.” His words were a strangled moan.
I dropped down a bit further and remained there, enjoying the desire twitching over his face.
"Please, Teagan, just take me," he begged.
I wanted to laugh out loud, but I didn't want to ruin the passion and desire that was hanging thick in the air around us. Mockery would have destroyed it.
I teased him a little more, dropping down slowly until half his length filled me.
That elicited an angry growl and, in one fluid motion, he sat upright, taking a handful of my buttocks and thrusting me closer, bringing me down onto his solid shaft. His palms smoothed over to my hips and he dragged me up and pulled me back onto his length at mind-blowing speed. A human's skin would have fingertip bruising from the force. I wrapped my arms around his neck and thrust my breasts against his chest. My nipples hardened on contact, his movements making them rub against him. The sensation sent sparks of sexual electricity straight to my sex. I gazed into his pools of golden light as he took what he'd earned. Took back what he gave. Pure pleasure.
His brow furrowed and his lids fell, blocking me from the glow behind them, his nose wrinkled and his teeth bared as he let out a long moan. He pulled my torso closer so that his face was lost in my red locks. His chest rose and fell against me, making my skin tingle at the point of contact.
He flopped back down on the bed, pulling me with him as though he wasn't yet ready for our separation.
"How was that?" he whispered as his breathing slowed down.
The question knocked me back. Why would he care if I enjoyed it or not? This was just a sexual relationship, nothing more. He moved his head away to regard me.
"Why do you care? This is just sex, right?"
He laughed, still trying to catch his breath. "Teagan, that doesn't mean I don't care if you enjoyed it or not. This isn't a one-night stand, remember? It has to be a mutually satisfactory arrangement."
"Oh. Right. Yes, it was great." I stumbled over the words, completely unsure of how to respond. Sweet Jesus, couldn't he tell? I was lost to him.
"I'm glad.” He grinned before climbing off the bed and heading for the shower. It seemed as though his action was due to my unintentional reminder of what our relationship was. Geo had done all these things…the sex, shaving me, tying me up, and fucking me. What he'd done was wrap himself up into a package that was so unfamiliar to me. I'd read a lot of books and learned that power is a common theme. This kind of power was different to what I'd ever read about or experienced. How could something so wrong feel so right?
I slammed my palms down on the bed, forcing my destructive train of thought away. I got up and got dressed.
I lingered by the bathroom door, wondering whether I should just leave or say goodbye. He appeared in the doorway with a white towel slung low around his waist, making his olive skin appear darker. His raised an ebony eyebrow.
"Leaving so soon?"
My eyes trailed down his body, drips of water trailing over his muscles. Beautiful.
My throat suddenly felt dry. On one hand, I wanted to drink from him; on the other hand, I didn't. I was scared about how it would make me feel. Scared that I'd fall for him the way I’d fallen for Marc. Surely, if that happened, it would make a mockery of what we'd had.
Just like the first time I'd been there, I left the apartment with a wordless whoosh before I could have the chance to give in to temptation.
I slowly wandered back to Alex's apartment, deciding to check the following sunset to see if Geo had kept his promise to contact the Romano's. I needed backup. Even though I knew they wouldn't back me up personally, that’s exactly what they'd be doing by coming to rescue Marc. If he did, indeed, require rescuing.
Even before I got to the apartment door, I heard it. A moaning sound coming from inside. Not the cries of passion, but it sounded like anguish. It sounded like pain and complete despair had been put into a musical mixing machine so that a sound could be produced to convey those precise emotions in one fell swoop.
I hurried to the suspiciously wide open door, rubbing my palms over my dress. Fear strangled me and caught each short, sharp breath in my swollen throat.
