BOOK SYNOPSIS

Their secret has been safe for hundreds of years, a legacy and legend that has been carefully kept by six guardians. They are known as the Keepers. But before the legend of the Keepers—came the Wolf.
Once upon a time, there lived a man whose fate would rest with two sisters. One will hold his heart. With her, he discovers a love that will last forever, though it will come with a price.
From the other sister, he will learn fortitude as he discovers that she holds the power to destroy all he holds dear. For as easily as one sister captures his heart, the other has found the way to trap his soul.

EXCERPT

One mountain stood off in the distance. Its peak was the highest. It grazed the heavens. It was the closest point that he could get to his love, now in the inky, deep black sky. It seemed it would be the perfect place to make his presence—and his demands—known.
The trip up the mountain took a great deal of the night, his strength had waned, but anger and determination pushed him up to the giant boulder, far above, jutting out into the night air.
The moon was beyond his reach—so close, yet, so far away. Swift Foot stood on the edge of the rock. A cool breeze greeted him, brushing softly against his cheek. He felt Shining Star had sent the breeze to touch him.
“I am here,” he told her softly, looking up into the sky. Then, he took a deep breath, and announced loudly to the Great Spirit, “I have come to speak to you.”
The breeze was replaced with a sudden burst of warm air, an acknowledgement of sorts.
He took a step forward, feeling the balls of his feet touch the edge of the rock. He was close now.
“You will put me there with her or I will die!” The raw emotion caused his voice to crack, but he knew the Great Spirit heard his demand.
A lightning bolt cracked from a cloudless sky in front of him, striking the ground below. No whispering voices came to his mind or thundering ones either. It seemed the Great Spirit wasn’t in the mood for negotiations. It wasn’t the response Swift Foot had wished to hear or see. Still, he stood on the rock, while his love watched him from her place in the heavens.
That was just as well, Swift Foot decided. He would be with her soon, with or without any help. He would never spend a day without her.
Another lightning strike lit up the sky as he lifted his arms out, and fell…

AUTHOR FOLLOW LINKS

How long did it take you to write The Wolf?
The Wolf is actually a pretty short novella. It was originally going to be a backstory in my third book, but then, as characters tend to do, the Wolf took off and demanded his own story to be told. The words began flowing and it only took a few weeks to write.

If you were stranded on a desert island which of your characters do you want by your side?
Any of my heroes/heroines. Definitely NOT any of my villains as they tend to be witches and faeries. ;)

What is your favorite book that you wrote?
So far, The Wolf has been my favorite, though the other two (Hidden Moon, and Once Upon a Haunted Moon) have been a lot of fun to write as well.

What's your favorite book-turned movie?
Mortal Instruments, City of Bones for a movie. But as an Outlander fan, I am completely psyched that there the tv series is on Stars.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Diana Gabaldon. The sheer detail to her books is astounding and her characters are so life-like that you feel you would recognize them if you were to see them walking down the street.

What is your typical day like?
I get ready for work in the morning (around 6AM), go to the dreaded day job until the evening, then spend time with my husband and son until nighttime. Then, at night, I disappear into my own world for a few hours and write!

When did you start writing?
I began writing about five years ago.

What made you decide to start becoming a published author?
My husband pushed me to publish. After I finished my first manuscript, I had no intention of letting the world see it. He believed in me and pushed me so that I believed in myself.

Which authors inspired you?
Mary Higgins Clark, whom I have loved ever since I was a teenager. Also, Diana Gabaldon has always been a huge inspiration.

Which are your favorite authors at the moment?
Diana Gabaldon and Rachel Caine (The Morganville Vampires series!)

Which genre do you generally write in?
Paranormal/Young Adult/NewAdult

How many unpublished stories do you have?
Three

What have you written?
I have written/am writing a series called The Keeper Saga. I currently have three books out in it. The Wolf (the prequel), Hidden Moon (book 1), and Once Upon a Haunted Moon (book 2)

What are you working on at this moment?
Book Three-Wynter's War, which I hope to have out by next spring.

What is your favorite type of hero/protagonist to write? Bad boys? Damaged men? The boy next door? The sensitive soul?
My favorite heroes are the strong, silent, and brooding type that you have to learn to love.

What is your favorite type of heroine/protagonist to write? Feisty women? Strong women? Weak women? Flighty women?
I love strong heroines. The girl in my series isn't one to pick a fight, but she's strong enough to end one (and does!)

How hard is it to research for you novels?
With the ease of the internet, information is always at your fingertips, which makes it very easy.

How is your day structured to include writing?
I have a day job and a three year-old son, so my writing always happens at night when he goes to sleep.

Do you write from an outline or just where the story and characters take you?
I originally started with an outline on my first book and discovered that my characters tend to take a life of their own when I write. I never outline anymore, I just let them take off and I follow along on their adventures.

Do you get the dreaded writer's block and how do you combat it?
Oh yes, more times than I care to admit. I take a break from writing for a couple of days and then pick up and try again.

If you could work with any author who would it be?
Diana Gabaldon. I would love to learn her secrets and how she keeps all the details in her books straight. Her novels are enormous and simply amazing!
Do you prefer to read ebooks or paper books?
Paper. There is something about the feel and smell of a physical book that you can't get from an e-reader

What TV shows & Movies are your favorite? Or the genre you prefer?
TV shows—Chicago Fire and Grimm. My favorite movie of all time is—Where the Heart is.

How many proofreaders/editors do you use before publishing your work?
4 Beta/Proofreaders and I use two editors

Do you have input in your covers? Who designs them?
My covers are designed by the fabulous and wonderful Keri Knutson at alchemybookcovers.com

What are your thoughts on good & bad reviews? (We aren't counting bashing reviews, simply negative reviews that are respectful)
All reviews help you grow as a writer. Yes, the bad ones can make you want to give up and crawl under a rock to hide. But the good ones will keep you going.

How do you relax? Or activities you use to relax?
Bubble baths!! :D

What is your favorite quote?
From a dear friend—"Write like your fingers are on fire!"

Is there anyone who supports you that you couldn't do without?
My husband. He is my rock.

What is the best or worst or both thing said about you as a writer or your novels?
The best was a fan who told me she had read my first book four times.

How do you come up with character names? How do you come up with novel titles?
They just kinda pop up in my head, like some of my characters have been known to do.

Do you feel upset if you kill off one of your main characters?
I sat and cried for two hours when I killed off a character in the second book. It was one of those things that had to be done, but I didn't like it—at all.

How do you feel once you complete a book?
Happy, happy, happy. :D

How many cats do you own?
Three. Two girls and a boy.

As a Trekkie, do you go to conventions? Perhaps speak Klingon? Or simply just love the Star Trek universe?
Oh yes! Unfortunately, I don't speak Klingon, much to my husband's dismay, but I love Star Trek, especially the Next Generation.
