BBB: What was the funniest thing you ever said while on a sugar rush? ASF: I love my sugar, so I probably say stupid things all the time.
BBB: Would your main character win on the show Survivor by strength, cheating or not at all?
ASF: She would crush them with strength but she’s not opposed to cheating. Losing is not in her nature.
BBB: Have you ever gone out in public with your shirt on backwards, or your slippers on, and when realizing it, just said screw it?
ASF: Not yet, but there’s still time.
BBB: Do you go out of your way to kill bugs? Are there any that make you screech and hide?
ASF: In or on the house yes, but not outside. I do not like spiders. Have you ever looked at them close? Totally evil looking. Eek! I’m also terrified of bees and wasps. I used to run and scream, but that was undignified so now I stand like a statue and scrunch up my face. Far better. LOL
BBB: Please tell us more about Deception and the storyline that drives it.
ASF: Deception is part of the Demon Hunters series, an epic battle of good vs. evil. Demons have invaded Regency England and Scotland and a Company of hunters battle to keep humanity safe.
The heroine, Lillian is a formidable demon hunter who rebels against men who try to impede her goals. She comes from nothing and everything she has is because she’s a demon hunter. When she suspects deception within the hunter company, she goes on a quest to root it out.
Dorian, a nobleman turned demon hunter, is assigned to keep an eye on her and stop her if she goes too far. He’s been infatuated with the fiery redhead for years and finds it impossible to remain impartial.
Together they discover lies that rock the foundation of everything they believe in and fight for.
BBB: How many more books will there be in the Demon Hunting series?
ASF: If all goes well, the series will be nine books.
BBB: What sets the Demon Hunters series apart from other books in the same genre?
ASF: The Demon Hunters is paranormal historical romance where often the heroine is as formidable as the hero. I write strong women in a time when women were little more than property. I also love men who are not threatened by a woman who can hold her own. In fact, my heroes find strong women quite stimulating. The paranormal setting gives me the ability to step outside the box and really have some fun with history.
I love Regency Romance and read it all the time but there are constraints within the genre. I’m a huge paranormal geek as well. Writing the Demon Hunters is the most fun ever.
BBB: What types of characters / creatures can readers expect in your world?
ASF: Besides the totally awesome humans with mad fighting skills, there are several types of demons. In Deception you’ll find Trebox, human sized creeps with pointed teeth and bad attitudes. Pravus are small hairy demons with poison fangs. Malleus demon are not too bright, covered in slime and stand eight or nine feet tall. Plenty more where they came from and of course, the Demon Master.
BBB: What does your protagonist think about you? Would he or she want to hang out with you, the author, his creator.
ASF: Lillian would think I need her protection and she’s probably right.
BBB: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve Googled?
ASF: Recently? I googled “queen of the night” Don’t ask…
BBB: What are the 5 books your HERO loves best!
ASF: Dorian is very analytical. He’d read, bulfinch’s mythology. He’d have read books on all the great civilizations, Greece, Rome, Egypt. He’s also a soldier and would relish King Lear and perhaps Twelfth Night for a bit of humor. I like to think he would also have enjoyed Miss Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. After all, he’s a romantic at heart.
BBB: What’s coming up for you for the rest of 2015?
ASF: Book three of the Demon Hunters, Betrayal will be out in December. I can’t wait for you to read Reece’s story. I received a lot of mail from readers unhappy that Lillian didn’t end up with Reece, but once you read Deception and Betrayal, you’ll see it couldn’t be any other way.
I released the End of Days Trilogy. These three novellas are fast paced, post apocalyptic and very steamy. They were my first published work and I’m happy to be able to bring them to readers in one volume at a special price.
