At some point in your reading life, some unwise grown-up probably told you not to make notes in your books. Well, Quarterly and Book Riot think that’s hogwash.
In their debut mailing, Book Riot not only sent you the great Lexicon by Max Barry (calling it "a literary thriller, an awesome work of speculative fiction, [and] and exploration of how words affect us"). They even stuffed the book with notes from the author himself.
And as you can see above, that was just the beginning. They put your books’ margins at further risk with the sweet Make a Point pencils; gave you more room for notes with the e.e. cummings notebook; and supplied a book lovers’ calendar, to organize your 2014 by reading.
And then——they just kept on going. They added a composition notebook with an excerpt of Katie Heaney’s memoir Never Have I Ever (not available until February, except in #BKR01). And at last, they called it a day with a poster from Quirk Books.
