I write dark paranormal romance and my newest release is Immortal Hunter, just released on the 1st of this month with Harlequin HQN. Immortal Hunter is the second full length book in my debut Execution Underground series, which is about a covert organization of supernatural hunters who fight to protect humanity—think if the T.V show Supernatural was about a whole group of guys (rather than just Dean & Sam) who worked together in one city, fighting supernatural creatures beside kickass heroines and that pretty much gives you a good starting idea of what my series is like.
I am told that fans of that show and fans of JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood would enjoy my series. When I first started writing the Execution Underground series, I knew I wanted to do something different and my goal was to bring something fresh to the paranormal genre.
Since there are so many heroes in the genre who are also paranormal creatures, I wanted to turn that on its head. As a result, my heroes are humans, who courtesy of a serum injection and specialized combat training from the Execution Underground are capable of fighting supernatural scum. The series focuses on the Rochester, NY division of the Execution Underground organization. The Rochester division is made up of six different human hunters who all have a different specialty. Immortal Hunter, my newest release, focuses on the demon hunter/exorcist of the group, David Aronowitz, and his half-Fae ex-fiance Allsún O’Hare.
David and Allsún were separated years ago and by a matter of fate are reunited in the first book in the series, Twilight Hunter. Now, in Immortal Hunter, they are forced to work side by side once again. Each book in the series focuses on a different hero and the amazing heroines that kick supernatural butt right alongside them. Each book can also be read as a stand-alone novel, though I think it’s fun to see the secondary characters in earlier books become the main characters in later books.
Another goal I had for the series was to make sure my heroines were strong, independent and kicked major ass without always needing the help of the hero. That’s why my heroines are things like vampire hunters, werewolf packmasters, and demon-hunting Fae…just to name a few. They give the heroes a run for their money when it comes to fighting the bad guys, but they are also very down-to-earth and easy relatable women.
Ultimately, I started out as a reader and hope that when anyone opens one of my novels, they can’t put it down and are whisked away into a magical, heart-pounding story. One of the best feelings in the world is falling into a really good book that you truly love and I hope my readers get that feeling from all of my books.
